1966 Chevrolet Chevelle - Readme Version 1.0 (October 2006)

Author: HarLequiN (www.elmargrussling.com)

Time to built the car: ca. 75 hours

Polycount: ca. 30000 Triangles

All tools you'll need to replace a car you'll find on www.gta-action.com (left menu -> downloads -> tools) or on other big GTA-sites. You'll need the following tools:

- Spark v0.9.2002 (the current version on the releasedate of this mod - you can also use the moreknown IMG-Tool but I think the Spark-editor is much more comfortable and easier to use)
- Windows Editor/ Wordpad/ whatever (just your simple average editor)

Delete the files premier.dff & premier.txd with the Spark-Editor from the gta3.img archive (located in the San Andreas gamedirectory in the subfolder data").
Copy in the files premier.dff, premier.txd, premier1.txd, premier2.txd, premier3.txd & premier4.txd from this archive (Drag+Drop). This car is customizable is Transfender and has 4 custom-paintjobs.

Use the GFX-Hack from Ashdexx (look for it here: "http://www.tjbp.net/dexxhole/SAgfxHack_beta.rar")!!! Without it reflections on custom-cars look crappy!!!
Just copy it into the San Andreas main directory and always start the game via the GFX-Hack. When ingame Alt+Tab out and click on "reflection fix", then on "close". Get back into game and voil, the reflections look wayyy better!!

After that locate the following files in the "data" subfolder:
- carcols.dat
- handling.cfg
- vehicles.ide
- carmods.dat

Search (CTRL+F) for the codeparts for the car "Premier" and replace them with the ones from this readme (look somewhere at the end under ***data***).
The codelines should look very similar to the ones in this readme, in fact there are just minor differences but those can do a lot ingamne! Do be very careful not to delete parts of codelines of other cars because then your game will most surely crash or bug around!!!
The color #2 in the colorlist is special. It's unique and you can replace the colourcode with the one from this readme. This is optional so you don't have to do this but it all looks better with this alternative colorcode!

Attention! Don't use version 2.0+ of San Andreas because as far as I know those versions aren't moddable!

Have fun with my car!!!

**********************Wheel Mod (Optional)**********************

There is a mod I strongly recommend when using the Chevelle:
- Wheel Deal 1.0 (by Ducati 996), the best wheelmod to date! All (really miserable) wheels from the San Andreas Tuning-Shops are replaced with high-quality ones. Down below you'll find suitable data for this mod so that you're able to customize the Chevelle with the optimal mixture of wheels. You can find this mod on gta-action -> left menu -> downloads -> mods -> wheels.

If you use Ducatis wheelmod I recommend using the following data:

In carmods.dat use the following line instead of the original ones:

0, wheel_gn1, wheel_gn2, wheel_gn3, wheel_gn4, wheel_gn5, wheel_or1, wheel_lr2, wheel_sr4, wheel_sr5, wheel_sr6, wheel_lr5, wheel_sr3
1, wheel_sr1, wheel_sr2, wheel_sr3, wheel_sr4, wheel_sr5, wheel_sr6, wheel_gn5, wheel_lr2, wheel_or1, wheel_gn1, wheel_gn4, wheel_lr5
2, wheel_lr1, wheel_lr2, wheel_lr3, wheel_lr4, wheel_lr5, wheel_gn5, wheel_sr4, wheel_sr5, wheel_sr6, wheel_gn1, wheel_gn4, wheel_sr3

In "shopping.dat" you'll need to delete all entries of the wheels (located almost at the bottom of the file or search for "section carmod1 # Normal Cars", "section carmod2 # Lowriders" and "section carmod3 # Street Racers") and replace them with the ones below:

section carmod1 # Normal Cars

		item wheel_gn1
		item wheel_gn2
		item wheel_gn3
		item wheel_gn4
		item wheel_gn5
		item wheel_or1
		item wheel_lr2
		item wheel_sr4
		item wheel_sr5
		item wheel_sr6
		item wheel_lr5
		item wheel_sr3

section carmod2 # Lowriders

		item wheel_lr1
		item wheel_lr2
		item wheel_lr3
		item wheel_lr4
		item wheel_lr5
		item wheel_gn5
		item wheel_sr4
		item wheel_sr5
		item wheel_sr6
		item wheel_gn1
		item wheel_gn4
		item wheel_sr3

section carmod3 # Street Racers

		item wheel_sr1
		item wheel_sr2
		item wheel_sr3
		item wheel_sr4
		item wheel_sr5
		item wheel_sr6
		item wheel_gn5
		item wheel_lr2
		item wheel_or1
		item wheel_gn1
		item wheel_gn4
		item wheel_lr5

Of course you don't have to alter those entries at all. It already works if you just replace the modelfiles as described in the readme of the wheelmod but I think you'll get better customizing-options by using my entries!

Although my files are not locked you are only allowed to alter or release them without my permission! Under NO circumstances do I want to see MY WORK released under a different author-name!!! Building a 3D-Model of a car and converting it into a game takes a lot of time and effort and since I'm egocentric I do want the glory which I deserve!!! :-))))
